Christmas Doesn’t Start With the Tree. It Starts With the Glow.

Christmas Doesn’t Start With the Tree. It Starts With the Glow.

Three candles. Three winter moments. One home that already feels like Christmas.

There is always a moment when Christmas begins.

Not the official sort.

Not the day the tree goes up.
Not when the first present gets wrapped.
Not even when someone finally finds the box with the decorations in it.

It is usually much quieter than that.

The afternoon gets dark a little earlier.
Someone turns on a lamp.
A candle is lit.

And suddenly the room feels different.

Warmer. Softer. More settled.

That small glow in the corner somehow says what December has been trying to say all along:

Come in. Stay awhile. Christmas is nearly here.

That feeling became the heart of The Winter Welcome — and of these three candles.

HOME BEFORE DARK

Where the light is always waiting.

There is something wonderfully reassuring about coming home on a winter evening and seeing a light already glowing inside.

Outside, the day has disappeared far too early.

Inside, there is warmth.

That is the feeling behind HOME BEFORE DARK.

Its lantern, winter greenery, pinecones and soft touches of cranberry were designed around that simple little moment of return — the moment the house seems to say:

You’re home now.

Place it in the hallway, beside a favourite chair or somewhere it can glow softly as the evening begins.

It does not need to shout Christmas.

A little evergreen.
A little candlelight.
A little warmth.

Sometimes that is all a room needs.

COME IN FROM THE COLD

There’s warmth waiting inside.

If HOME BEFORE DARK is the journey home, COME IN FROM THE COLD is what happens when the door closes behind you.

Coats come off.

Cold hands wrap around warm mugs.

Someone claims the best seat.

And suddenly nobody seems particularly interested in going back outside.

Its gathered winter bouquet, deep berry ribbon, greenery and pinecones bring a richer, slightly more festive note to The Winter Welcome.

This is the candle for the busy part of Christmas.

For kitchens with something in the oven.

For friends who “only popped in for five minutes.”

For evenings when one cup of coffee somehow turns into supper.

And really, that is exactly how a welcoming home should work.

Possible side effect:

Guests may interpret “come in from the cold” as permission to stay until January.

We cannot entirely rule it out.

AFTER THE SNOW

When the whole world grows quiet.

And then there is the other side of winter.

The quiet one.

No visitors.

No wrapping paper.

No one looking for the scissors they were holding thirty seconds ago.

Just the house after everything settles.

That is AFTER THE SNOW.

Its snowy evergreen branches, pinecones, soft berries and little winter bird make it the calmest of the three.

There is something about snow that seems to soften everything.

Sound.
Light.
Even time.

And while we cannot promise actual snow outside your window, we do rather like the idea of bringing that feeling indoors.

Light it during a slow morning.

On a quiet evening.

Or after the Christmas rush when the house finally becomes still again.

Some Christmas moments are made by gathering everyone together.

Others happen when everything goes beautifully quiet.

THREE CANDLES. ONE WINTER STORY.

Together, these three candles tell the story of The Winter Welcome.

HOME BEFORE DARK
The light that says you are nearly home.

COME IN FROM THE COLD
The warmth waiting on the other side of the door.

AFTER THE SNOW
The quiet once the whole world settles down.

Different moments.

The same home.

The same warm winter palette of cream, greenery, cranberry, natural texture and soft candlelight that runs through The Winter Welcome.

And perhaps that is what Christmas decorating is really about.

Not filling every corner.

Not making the house perfect.

Just creating a few small moments that make everyone who walks through the door feel something.

Warmth.
Comfort.
Welcome.
Home.

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS GLOW GOES A LONG WAY

You do not need twenty decorations to make a room feel festive.

Although, judging by the mysterious annual multiplication of Christmas storage boxes, somebody may want to tell our cupboards that.

Sometimes one candle beside a bit of greenery is enough.

A tray.
A pine branch.
A favourite mug.
A warm throw.
A soft light in the window.

Those are the details that turn a decorated house into a Christmas home.

And that was always the idea behind The Winter Welcome.

Cosy at the door. Elegant through the whole house.
