The English Cottage Garden

Four Beautiful Ways to Bring the Garden Home

There is something rather wonderful about an English cottage garden.

Perhaps it's the roses spilling over an old stone wall. The winding path that seems to lead somewhere magical. Or the beautiful chaos of flowers growing exactly where they please.

Nothing is quite perfect.

And somehow, everything belongs.

That is the feeling behind our newest collection at CTRL + PIX + PRT.

The English Cottage Garden — Series 1.

Four decorative pillows, each with its own personality, brought together by one romantic colour story.

But this isn't quite the cottage garden you might expect.

We've taken those familiar English garden colours — soft sage, deep leafy greens, faded rose, warm terracotta, lavender and gentle blue — and given them a contemporary little twist.

Because we believe a beautiful home should have character.

And perhaps just a touch of the unexpected.

A Garden of Colours, Collected Over Time

Imagine a sunlit sitting room.

A comfortable cream sofa, an old wooden coffee table, fresh flowers gathered from the garden, and a favourite book waiting to be opened.

Nothing looks overly arranged.

The cushions don't match perfectly. The furniture has stories to tell. And the colours feel as though they've been collected over many happy years.

That's the kind of home we love.

For this collection, we wanted to capture that relaxed English country feeling while introducing bolder shapes, playful patterns and a fresh perspective.

The result?

Four designs that look beautiful individually but become something rather special when brought together.

Meet the Four Personalities

01 | Heritage Stripe

The relaxed romantic.

Some patterns have a way of making a room feel instantly more welcoming.

Heritage Stripe is one of them.

Painterly vertical stripes in faded rose, garden green, muted lavender, gentle blue and warm cream create a beautifully relaxed mix of colour.

The irregular edges and vintage-inspired printed texture give it the character of a treasured country-house textile.

Turn it around, and you'll discover a softly textured dusty rose reverse.

A little colour when you're feeling playful.

A little calm when you're not.

02 | Modern Botanical

The confident one.

Who says English cottage style has to be delicate?

Certainly not us.

Modern Botanical brings something wonderfully unexpected to the collection.

Oversized botanical shapes form a striking, symmetrical design, combining deep greens with terracotta, blush and lavender against a warm cream background.

It's bold. It's artistic. And it has just enough vintage character to feel right at home among traditional English country interiors.

The reverse reveals a beautifully detailed cream botanical trellis against rich garden green.

Two completely different personalities.

One rather fabulous pillow.

03 | The Garden Map

The dreamer.

Imagine looking down upon a beautiful garden from above.

Winding pathways, carefully planted flowerbeds, clipped trees and a gently flowing blue waterway.

Almost like discovering a secret garden hidden inside the pages of an old illustrated book.

That is the inspiration behind The Garden Map.

Its decorative composition brings together all the colours of our collection in one wonderfully imaginative design.

And on the reverse?

A delicate cream botanical pattern against muted sage green.

It's a little piece of garden magic, designed for the home.

04 | Believe in Tomorrow

The optimist.

"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow."

There is something rather lovely about those words.

The idea that planting something today means believing that tomorrow holds the promise of something beautiful.

We wanted to give that sentiment a special place within our collection.

Believe in Tomorrow combines expressive typography with stylised botanical artwork in the same romantic colours found throughout The English Cottage Garden.

Its softly distressed, vintage-inspired appearance feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

On the reverse, a calming sage green linen-look print offers a beautifully understated alternative.

A little reminder of hope.

And a rather lovely reason to smile.

Four Designs. One Beautiful Colour Story.

Here's where the real fun begins.

Although each pillow has its own personality, all four belong to the same carefully considered colour palette.

Which means you can mix them without worrying about everything matching perfectly.

Try Heritage Stripe alongside Modern Botanical for a playful combination of pattern and colour.

Pair The Garden Map with the gentle sage reverse of Believe in Tomorrow for something softer.

Or bring all four together to create a wonderfully layered English country look.

Each pillow is reversible, giving you even more freedom to change the mood of your space.

Because decorating should be enjoyable.

Not an exercise in making sure every cushion stands at precisely the correct angle.

We're fairly certain English cottage gardens don't work that way either.

A Little Note About Their Vintage Charm

One of our favourite features of this collection is its beautifully timeworn appearance.

We've intentionally incorporated painterly edges, softly distressed details, faded colour variations and linen-inspired textures into the artwork.

These are printed artistic effects, designed to capture the character of vintage textiles.

The pillows themselves are made from soft faux suede, not linen.

It's our way of combining the romance of traditional decorative fabrics with a contemporary printed design.

A little old-world charm, without actually having to rummage through an attic.

Although we do rather enjoy a good antique shop.

Bring a Little Garden Magic Home

You don't need a country cottage.

You don't need acres of roses.

And you certainly don't need to be particularly good at keeping plants alive.

Sometimes, bringing the garden indoors is simply about choosing colours, patterns and beautiful little details that make a room feel happier.

A soft place to land at the end of the day.

A favourite corner filled with books.

A home that feels warm, welcoming and unmistakably yours.

That's what we hope The English Cottage Garden will bring.

Four designs.

Eight beautiful sides.

And endless possibilities for creating a home you love.

With love and a little creative mischief,

CTRL + PIX + PRT

Beautiful spaces. Wonderful feelings. A home that's entirely yours.
